Haidate Karlta Skirt

This traditional and fully functional thigh guard is beautifully crafted and constructed in either two separate sections if wearing a "Kusazuri", or each section sewn together at the back of the "Haidate" if not wearing a "Kusazuri"  with each panel either tied individually with the Bows tied at the hips, or in a Kimono Style Knot at the front. Each panel is three layers thick with an outer trim covering the complete edge of the"Haidate".

The "Haidate" was indeed a late occurrence in Japanese armour, not really arriving on the scene until around the thirteenth century or the Sengoku period of feudal Japanese history. This design takes advantage and very much introduced into the outfit of the modern Shinobi Warrior as it is both tough, durable, and very practical for the 21st century style of armour. The perfect addition for either field training, competition work, or an addition to your collection at home.

Important note before purchasing:

When selecting your choice of a "Haidate construction" in variations it is important to select either "Bow at Front" if you are not wearing a "Kusazuri" as this already has a centre Bow, and would not be practical to have two Bows in the same position when wearing both. If however you are wearing a "Kusazuri" then select "Bow knots at hips" keeping the Bows of the Haidate over each hip, and leaving the Bow of the "Kusazuri" at the front.


Haidate Size:

Each panel dimentions are: Top edge = 22 inches, Bottom edge = 25 inches, height = 24 3/4 inches, Obi Sash length = 163 inches, Karlta numbers 21 armour plates on each side panel.  The Haidate is two panels ie, for one size fits all, as each can overlap at the back for slim or husky people.
